Updates (on my life) and Redefining the Blog

Hello there everyone,

Happy New Year! My sincerest apologies for being inactive on this blog for a little over a year. My last official “column” if you will, debuted back in December of 2018. Since then, I have been applying to jobs and taking online classes in order to 1UP my skill set in the meantime—and to show off my resume. 😉 Alas, after many months of continuous rejection and disappointment, I gradually experienced a combination of psycho-emotional burnout/fatigue, depression and “backsliding” in regards to what my original career goals were. In fact, I even started to forget what was my motivation for looking for work in the first place.

That is…until I had the idea to see if there were any alternatives to making a steady income aside from your traditional 9-to-5 office cubicle/desk job.

Thanks to the widespread accessibility of the Internet, Google search, and YouTube—one day last fall, I came across two simple words that have changed my outlook on the essence of money forever: passive income.

“What is it exactly…and how can I start earning it?” I wondered.

See…up until around the summer of 2019, I had honestly still believed in the age-old story that our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers, doctors, nurses and so on had always told young people: you graduate from high school in order to pursue a higher education (mainly in the form of a traditional 4-year university). That should get you a Bachelor’s degree in whatever you chose to major or minor in; and then you graduate from college, right?

But hold on…we’re just getting started.

While the vast majority of Millennials and Gen Z-ers graduating from community colleges or universities this year might think they’ll able to land a decent paying job or two in a few months’ time—truth be told…

And it’s not just the market or the Trump administration to blame either. According to a Forbes article published as recently as 6 months ago, under former President Obama’s leadership, America gained about a million more jobs in the private sector alone, according to reports. There have also been persistent rumors of an economic recession just waiting to happen in the early 2020’s as well—no thanks in part to Donald Trump and his idiotic trade war with China. (You can Google search even more news story developments about this because I don’t think I need to rehash all the details here).

Anyways, back to my epiphany story…

After I had realized I could have been making money via day trading, monetizing my WordPress blog over many years, and investing in general—seeing the opportunity to do so, I jumped right at it and decided that IT’S NOW OR NEVER. Therefore, in a nutshell, this is in fact what I have been doing since last summer.

Of course, instead of bore you with a detailed explanation of my stream of consciousness and schematics—from the very moment this post goes live (AKA gets published), I will be busy renovating and re-vamping the site behind-the-scenes to make it look and feel more sleek and professional.

Who knows? Perhaps someday in the near future…this can become my side gig—and not just a hobby I’m passionate about pursuing merely for fun. 🤣🤣

Until next time,

Josh
